I Made a mistake. Frustrated with myself. I just want to be the best I can be. Sometimes in life we make mistakes. And the response I have always heard, Mistakes are lessons. As long as you learn and get better with each mistake you will succeed. But what if that mistake you made was dangerous and you couldn’t afford that mistake? You practice until you can’t get it wrong. You go over each step that needs to be made carefully and precisely in you mind. You don’t get upset when you get coached through it. You don’t get pissed 😡. I was mad with myself. So angry. But I could hear every word that was being said. I am thankful for a Training Captain who does not want injuries on the fire ground. A Captain who he’d much rather correct you despite the chance you may be upset. I’m the same way with my children. I would much rather hurt feelings than a hospital trip or worse.
